I was glad to recommend this location, despite not having been here in a decade. It did not disappoint. Service was great! Atmosphere, nice. We were even greeted when we walked in by, "welcome back!" Our party of 8 enjoyed their food.

The food at this restaurant is consistently delicious and fresh, while the service, personally overseen by owner Max, is attentive and welcoming. The two-story venue exudes a relaxed ambiance, encouraging lively discussions and laughter, especially during Sunday morning gatherings. Notably, despite its popularity, table wait times are minimal. The wet burritos are a standout dish. This restaurant is well worth visiting.

We keep coming to Max's and are still pleased with the food and service. I still highly recommend this restaurant.

Love the food here! If you are looking for a Mexican restaurant with a great environment and friendly staff this is the place you want to come to. Their horchata is perfect, goes with anything you order.

Very good, tasty and fresh food, great service with the owner, "Max", always welcoming every single guest with his, "Where you been?" greeting. This two-story restaurant has such a relaxed and positive vibe w/hearty conversations and laughter heard throughout the large venue especially on Sunday mornings. This place is ALWAYS packed but you will never have to wait long for a table. The menudo here is very tasty and this is one of the few places that can serve menudo without the meat as my family and I prefer. This place is definitely worth a visit

I always enjoy coming here. The food and drinks are so satisfying and the service is on point. Max the owner greets you with a friendly and enthusiastic "Where you been?" I came here with my husband and we each got our own salsa. The salsa tasted fresh and homemade and I liked that it was the chunky kind. We wanted to try a different salsa as well, and they gave us options when we inquired. Their red salsa was great too and went well with my husband's dish. I ordered a cadillac margarita and I enjoyed drinking it out of a heavy glass goblet. I also ordered a combination plate consisting of an enchilada suiza and chile relleno. They were delicious and filling. My husband's steak picado was good too. There were multiple people waiting on our table, so we never went without something we needed. This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley area.

Real nice Mexican restaurant. Great atmosphere, although very high noise level. We sat next to a large family party with some young kids that were a bit loud. Reasonable prices, service was fast and efficient, and meals were very tasty and huge portions. There was about a 10-minute wait before we sat which was very reasonable. I had the Grilled Chicken salad, and my wife and son got the burritos, which portions were huge on all three which we all took home with us. Plus, the Sangria was good and tasty

Traveling through Azusa we stopped in around 5 for dinner. First, it's a medium sized location on the Main Street through town. Parking was easy. There were spots right in front and a large parking garage on the opposite side of the street. Inside, it was very nicely decorated Mexican restaurant style but not over done. It was very busy but we were seated quickly and greeted the wait staff right away. It was super noisy but there was a very group seated in the middle of the place. Although we never really knew who are waiter/waitress was we were attended to very nicely during our entire visit. And now the food.... I had the carnitas dinner plate. The portions were very generous. The beans and rice were yummy and carnitas were good. They weren't the best I ever buy then again I'm used to having prepared a little differently. The flavor was very good but some of the chunks were a Little dry. Overall it was a very good experience.

We came with a $20 gift certificate for a date night. We ordered a fajitas supremas. With both flour and corn tortillas. The food looked great! And it was hot.. but eating it was another story. All of the meats were overcooked. And being a person who cooks at home, I prefer moist meat.. I also have a gastric bypass pass and can't have over cooked meat. The service was awesome and the ambiance was so great, and it may have been what we ordered but we couldn't finish it.

I visited Max's Mexican Cuisine on a Sunday night with two of my best girlfriends. It was our catch-up day after being busy with our adult lives and we chose to celebrate at a previous favorite when we all worked in the area - Max's Mexican Cuisine! We were so glad to see the food was just as delicious as we remembered and the staff was as amazing as ever. The portions here are always huge and I get to take back an extra meal to eat another time. I got the Asada Burrito this time with green salsa. It's just what you'd like in a burrito - juicy steak, bright flavors with lime, chili peppers, and more. One of my friends also got a burrito and the other got a Asada Platter. The free chips & salsa were just the cherry on top. Everything was delicious! What truly made our experience here was the exceptional service. The team members weren't just servers; they were the warmest and most personable gals I encountered. Everyone had such genuine warmth and hospitality, making our dinner an extra fun time! Their great energy and funny jokes made my girlfriends and I laugh so hard and they were so attentive to our needs like filling up our water glasses since we were talking so much. Whether you're marking a special occasion or just craving a fun atmosphere with delicious food, Max's Mexican Cuisine is the place to be! I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking to eat delicious Mexican food paired with the friendliest service team you'll ever meet.
